The Marketing and Outreach Committee has organized several summer play dates for new families to meet current NKMC families in a relaxed and playful setting. These are also a wonderful opportunity for children to make and maintain friendships over the summer.

LOCATION: President’s Park in Edgewood, KY (front playground near bathrooms)

DATES: Saturday, June 9th 10 am to 12 pm
Wednesday, June 21 3 to 5 pm
Saturday, July 14 10 am to 12 pm
Tuesday, July 24 10 am to 12 pm
Monday, August 6 3 to 5 pm

Please wear NKMC school colors (blue and yellow) for identification purposes.

NKMC to Expand

NKMC will be doubling the size of its facility over the summer. We will be adding a third primary classroom, and the Elementary children will have their very own classroom space! In addition to other benefits of our expanding space, we will have room for dedicated Music and French classes, a lunch space and nap space. We are hiring an architect to help us in planning and design, and look forward to a busy summer of making it happen! The NKMC Board of Directors continues to develop and implement a 5 to 7 year strategic plan, which will include a Capital Campaign to raise the funds needed for NKMC to have its own campus and building in the future.

Enrollment Information for Academic and Summer Programs

We are currently accepting applications for the 2012/2013 school year. On March 1st, open enrollment began with new families who have already submitted their applications. The remaining spots are then filled with new students based on the date of application. Finally, student interviews are completed in April. During the interview, one or both teachers in the classroom will work individually with your child to gauge their interests, their level of comfort in the classroom, and gain an understanding of their developmental stage. Rarely is the Montessori classroom deemed inappropriate for a child. If you are seeking admission to the Elementary program, and your child is transferring from another school, we will require school records prior to the interview. If your child has a psycho-educational evaluation, or if other developmental evaluations have been completed, we will require that documentation as well. Once received, we will be happy to interview your child for entry into our Elementary program.

We are also enrolling for Summer Camp 2012. Summer Camp will take place from June 4 through July 20 and will be closed the week of July 2.
